decided to create this web site our goal
was to provide educational material
relevant to microsurgery and reconstructive plastic surgery. We want it to
present relevant scientific information
to those interested in these topics, and
possibly in some cases to stimulate more
research into the areas we touch
upon. We are hopeful that you to
find these pages informative and

Dr.
Rudy Buntic is a plastic, hand and
microsurgeon. He obtained his A.B.
from Harvard University and
his M.D. from McGill University.
Dr. Buntic did his post-graduate
residency training in general and
plastic surgery at Stanford
University. He did a fellowship in
hand and microsurgery at Davies Medical
Center in San Francisco. Dr.
Buntic is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American
Board of Plastic Surgery, and is
board certified in the Subspecialty of Surgery
of the Hand by the American Board of
Plastic Surgery. He is a member of several societies,
including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the
American Society for
Reconstructive Microsurgery. Dr. Buntic has
published scientific articles, book
chapters and presented at national
meetings related to a wide variety of
plastic, hand and microsurgery
topics. He has a strong interest in microsurgical
reconstruction of the breast and extremities, and his practice includes all
aspects of plastic and aesthetic surgery. He and his colleagues have performed
the recently developed perforator flap, siea flap and tug flap for breast reconstruction. His practice is in San
Francisco at the Buncke Clinic and
Davies Campus of
California Pacific Medical Center.

Dr.
Darrell Brooks is a plastic, hand and
microsurgeon. He obtained his B.A.
from Stanford University and his M.D.
from Stanford University. Dr.
Brooks did his post-graduate residency
training in plastic surgery at Stanford
University and did a fellowship in hand
and microsurgery at Davies Medical
Center in San Francisco. Dr. Brooks has
published scientific articles, book
chapters and presented at numerous national
and international meetings related to a wide variety of
plastic, hand and microsurgery
topics. Dr. Books has a wide interest in all aspects of reconstructive and
aesthetic surgery, including upper and lower extremity reconstruction, breast
reconstruction and replantation. He is an editor of the journal
Microsurgery. His
practice is in San Francisco at the
Davies Campus of California Pacific

Dr.
Greg Buncke is a plastic, hand and
microsurgeon. He received his M.D.
from Georgetown University in
Washington, DC. He completed his
residency in Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery at Stanford University and did a
fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at
the Davies Medical Center in San
Francisco, where he remains in
practice. Dr. Buncke is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic
Surgery, and has a Certificate of Added
Qualification in Surgery of the Hand. He
is a Fellow of the American College of
Surgeons, and a member of several
societies, including the American
Society of Plastic Surgeons, the
American Society for Reconstructive
Microsurgery, and the American Society
for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Buncke has published numerous articles related to a
wide
variety of plastic, hand and
microsurgery topics. His practice is in San Francisco at the
Davies Campus of California Pacific

Dr.
Harry Buncke has been selected one of
the top 10 plastic surgeons of the 20th
century and is a pioneer of microsurgery
and experimental microsurgery. Dr. Buncke´s numerous honors include the
Ivy Award in1970 and a Special Honorary
Citation from the American Society of
Plastic Surgeons in 1985. He
received The American Association of
Plastic Surgery Honorary Award in 1979
and the Clinician of the Year award in
1989. He is a former past
president of the American Society for
Surgery of the Hand and the American
Association of Plastic surgery. Dr. Buncke is commonly referred to as the
founding father of microsurgery. His
practice is in San Francisco at the
Davies Campus of California Pacific
