Dr. Amy Moore is Chair of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the College of Medicine at The Ohio State University and an expert in peripheral nerve reconstruction.
Dr. Amy Moore is Chair of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the College of Medicine at The Ohio State University. Prior to her move to Ohio State, Dr. Moore was as associate professor of surgery, chief of the Section of Hand and Trauma Surgery and director of the Hand, Nerve and Microsurgery Fellowship.

As a committed surgeon-scientist, Dr. Moore has developed a parallel translational science research program with more than $1 million in funding from the Department of Defense (DoD). She has extensively published her clinical and translational research findings with more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters.

A passionate educator and a tireless advocate for her mentees, Dr. Moore has lectured at conferences around the world. In 2017, Dr. Moore was designated as the American Society for Surgery of the Hand’s Plastic Surgery Visiting Professor. She was recently named the 2019-20 Plastic Surgery Foundation Visiting Professor, an honor bestowed on select individuals nationally each year. She is also the current Bunnell Fellow of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.

Her dedication to her field is manifested in her service and leadership roles on national and international associations and boards. She serves on the scientific advisory board for the International Symposium of Neural Regeneration and has participated on multiple study sections for the DoD. She also has leadership roles on the Board of the American Association of Hand Surgery and the American Society for Peripheral Nerve.

Dr. Moore received her medical degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency, peripheral nerve research fellowship and plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine. She then completed a hand fellowship at Mayo Clinic.
