Background:
Dr. Pederson is Attending Surgeon in Plastic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery at Texas Children's Hospital and Professor of Surgery, Orthopedics and Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also the Samuel Stal, M.D. Endowed Chair in Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Pederson received his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and his Plastic Surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He did a fellowship in Hand Surgery at the University of Louisville Health Science Center at Louisville, Kentucky and a fellowship in microsurgery research at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Pederson specializes in hand reconstruction, hand trauma, brachial plexus repair and lower limb reconstruction. He is a member of the Hand Center at West Campus. He serves on the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery and on the Scientific Editorial Board of the Journal of Hand Surgery (American).

Dr. Pederson is both board certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery and with the American Board of Surgery in Surgery of the Hand.
